Beyond product features: how to get noticed by early adopters
35-min talk for developers and founders of tech startups / Codemotion Warsaw, 2016.▉

Your product is ready to take off! Your beta-testers are not just happy - they love your
product. So, after the public release, early adopters should love it too, right?
When launching your product the successful closer-beta, the challenge you are going to face from day one is: early users have much less interest in your tech features than the beta-testers had. Moreover, our competitors may already offer the same features for a better price or in a bigger package. And things will get even more challenging with mass adoption later on… because people may not care at all!
The path to mass adoption rarely lays through technical explanations. There is another way to win the hearts and minds of your early adopters.
■
During the talk I explained:
- the difference between beta-testers and early adopters (as the first two categories of customer)
- how to grab attention when your product has many decent alternatives on market
- how to increase early adoption of your product by shifting the communication from a rational to a more human narrative with the help of the emotional triggers mapping.
