Start your project

If your company needs one of the following:

rebranding when your company takes a new direction or expands

brand refresh when you are raising your next series

branding from scratch when you are launching your project on the market

360° visual experience for your next event

creative direction for your R&D project or marketing campaign

brand governance for your movement or community,

answer these 5 questions to kick off the process:

If you have broader objectives or goals and would like to explore what will bring you there, — for example, "We are raising Series A, and investors say we look scrappy. Do we really need rebranding?" OR "We have our brand guidelines, but something feels off" — consider this alternative start. It will save you thousands of dollars.

▇▇ What's next?

After filling out the form,

  1. You'll get a link to schedule a 30-minute call to align on your project objectives. If you're not a founder, ensure your founders join us for this call. It will speed up the project estimation.
  2. During the call, we'll discuss the information you shared in the form. By the end, we'll have a clear list of objectives you want to achieve.
  3. You'll receive a proposal from me within 3 days. After you confirm receipt of the proposal, we’ll schedule our next call to discuss it and choose your preferred project option.
  4. After you select an option, I'll send you the contract.
  5. We start the project once the contract is signed.

What happens next depends on the project type, your business objectives, and the selected project option.

▇▇ FAQs

How long does it take?
The time-to-complete depends on three factors:

  1. the scope of work. For example: The bigger the website, the longer it takes. The older the brand, the more assets you need to redesign to roll out the rebrand.
  2. your feedback speed. If your team speaks in one voice and returns feedback within the agreed-upon time, we move fast. If the decision process is turbulent, I'll guide your team toward alignment, but it will take time.
  3. my availability. If your project timeline overlaps with my business travels, it will have an impact on the delivery date. You will learn about this during the proposal discussion.

If you want to know ideal numbers: Branding from scratch takes 6+ weeks. Design of a 5-page website — from the workshop until the design delivery — takes 8+ weeks.

If you want to speed up the process, some brand assets may be designed in parallel.

What is your process?
You will learn more about the process when we discuss the proposal. Every project option you will see there may require a different process.

Before that, scan case studies or read my Embrace Variety. The content there may work as an answer for now.

Do I need a creative brief?
No, you don't need to have it ready for inquiring about the project. If stars align and you decide to hire me, wee'll fill out my creative brief template.

What if I need it asap?
I usually work on multiple projects at a time, so rushing projects is not possible. Also, rushing affects the quality of work, which I don't allow myself to do. Part of the reason you're here is because I pushed back against unhealthy deadlines in the past.

Sometimes, a possible way to speed up the process is to decrease your feedback time. So far, some teams have tried it, but in the end, preferred to have more time to sleep on concepts and discuss them internally.

Check question 1 for the standard-optimistic duration of projects.

What exactly will I receive at the end?
We will agree on deliverables during the proposal step. If you have something specific in mind, tell me about it when filling out this form (link).

How often will we communicate during the project?
We will have two types of work phases:
1. workshopping (when we work together) and
2. design-in-progress (when I design and you give feedback).

We will schedule workshops separately based on the timeline.

During the design-in-progress phase, we will work in weekly sprints with weekly presentations and weekly feedback windows.

Do you help with naming?
While I don't provide naming as a brand service, I'll make naming suggestions for sub-brands or products during the brand architecture work, and guide you through testing them.

Do you also do research?
Yes and maybe.

Yes, I do market research as part of the (re)branding work. It's a non-negotiable step to make you stand out

I'll always suggest to interview your current customers and potential users for better website design. Whether it will be included or not depends on the project option you choose during the proposal phase.

Do you provide website development?
No, I don't code and don't work with no-code platforms like Webflow or Wix. But I can connect you with developers and agencies from my network for this type of work.

Do you write copy?
Yes and no.

Yes, I'll tell you what copy should go where, and will write micro-copy (buttons, links, menus, taglines, titles). Additionally, I will ensure your content is web-friendly as part of the web design project.

But I don't write long-form content. This part of the web design will be on your shoulders. I can also connect you with copywriters from my network.

Do you do product design?
Website UX, blog UX, and specific flows in the dev portal DX (developer experience) are considered part of the marketing UX. This is part of branding.

I'm ready to design an in-app UX for you, but only as part of a branding-from-scratch project. For example, if your product is in demo, closed-alpha, or a very early stage.

If you are a growing (post-seed) company, giving product design and rebranding of this scale into the hands of one person will slow you down. If you want both parts to be handled by a single entity, consider hiring an agency.

I don't work on product-design-only projects, but I can recommend trusted people and agencies from my network.

Can you help implement the new brand?
Yes, it's called a brand rollout. I will always suggest it as a part of the scope. Whether it is included or not depends on the project option you choose during the proposal phase.

What happens after the (re)branding is complete?
There are three common phases to call a project complete:
  1. Design is complete. This means you have all the deliverables we agreed on ready to be used. But they still circulate only internally.
  2. (Re)Brand is complete. You have all those deliverables launched according to the rollout plan and no traces of the old brand identity exist on your side.
  3. Post-rollout feedback is complete. (Re)launching a rebrand is like performing surgery — you need to monitor the brand health and watch the reaction for a bit after. Just like you need a maintenance time after the code release.

When to call your rebranding complete depends on the project option you choose.

What is your hourly rate?
I charge a fixed price per project, not by the hour. After you sign the contract, you will not pay a dime more than we agreed on. Because of this, we pay extra attention to the scope of work and the process before signing the contract.

How much does it cost? At least the range.
Something between 50K and 500K Euros. The hyper-detailed answer tailored to your needs and your project you'll find in the proposal.

Do you do pro-bono?
Yes. Since 2019, all my pro-bono time — which is approximately 100-150 hours per year — has been devoted to the DWeb community, where I serve as their Creative Director. (While I got paid for the DWeb Camp event identities every year.)

What if I don't like the initial concepts?
The level of my project briefing ensures that I will always suggest something that you will fall in love with.

We will move forward only when you approve one of the concepts I present, with or without iterations. Every next sprint builds on top of the previously made decisions, so I always double-check that the right people are happy and have approved it.

What if I'm not happy with your work?
Then you will be the first one in my career! I'm serious. No one has complained so far. That's why I offer a money-back guarantee: if you're not satisfied with my work during the first three weeks of our collaboration, I'll refund your prepayment.

I will always suggest something that you will fall in love with for three reasons:
  1. My briefing process is ultra-detailed and does not leave blind spots
  2. I guide your feedback process so we always have actionable steps for the next sprint
  3. Founders participate in the process from the briefing until the delivery.
